About Lane

artist and his dog

Lane retired after 30 plus years as a Geologist with a major oil company.  He has always been interested in woodworking and over the years designed and completed many projects including end tables, desks, coffee tables and stereo cabinets.

He began woodturning shortly before retirement and has been honing his craft for the past 7-8 years.  Being a Geologist, he collected many rocks, minerals and fossils over the past 30+ years and has incorporated many aspects of that hobby into his woodturning projects.  His woodturning projects include vessels, vases, urns, bowls, pens and kaleidoscopes.   The woods used in his projects include whole logs, many collected locally in Texas, and various woods purchased either online or at specialty lumberyards, mainly used in his segmented pieces.

If interested in purchasing a piece, contact me and I can quote a price and shipping costs.  Each piece comes with a description of the wood, mineral, fossil, etc. depending on the piece (see example below).
